Record­ing Using the Digidesign 003

Patch­ing:

1. Plug the micro­phone into one of the patch­bay inputs. XLR inputs 1 – 2 are nor­mal inputs, XLR inputs 3 – 4 are phan­tom powered.

Note: Check care­fully if the mic needs phan­tom power or you risk ruin­ing it.

2. If you are using an exter­nal pre-​amp, use Line jack inputs.

Digidesign 003 Setup:

1. Turn up the gain on the Digidesign 003 soundcard.

2. You can con­nect your head­phones straight to the front of the 003.

Turn up the Phones knob and you will be able to hear the microphone’s sig­nal com­ing through.

Using Pro Tools?

1. Open Pro Tools.

2. Open/​Create a project from a template.

3. Add a mono track.

4. Make the track input ‘Mic input 1′ (or 2,3,4 if you are using them).

5. Arm the track.

6. Press ‘Record’.

1. Open Logic.

2. Open/​Create a project from template.

3. Add a mono track.

4. Make the track input ‘Mic input 1′.

5. Arm the track.

6. Press ‘Record’.
